The Newborn Session
This is perhaps one of my favorite sessions. There's something pretty amazing, and overwhelming, about holding this new little life in your arms - so totally dependent on you and your love.
This is an intimate session featuring the baby by themselves, and then their relationship with you. There's something pretty precious about a peaceful, sleeping baby, so we concentrate on getting some of these heart tugging photographs. Tiny fingers, toes, ears, noses etc. make great "Precious Parts" panels, so we'll get those as well.
The contrast between baby's teeny little hands and daddy or mommy's great big hands can be wonderful, so even if you don't want the rest of you in the phtographs we love to capture these as well.
But my favorites are those that show the relationship between baby and parents - the peaceful look of a baby nestled in your arms, and the look of absolute wonder on the faces of mom and dad as they gaze at this new little bundle are the most heart tugging photographs you can imagine.
The newborn session should be done before the baby is 2 weeks old, to capture that absolute newborn look. We always schedule these at a time when we can take all the time we need to properly complete this session. With a new baby, you never know just how they'll react, and the baby's needs come first. Plan on perhaps 2 hours, although frequently we can complete them more quickly than this. But if the baby needs to be fed, to be held and reassured, it's no problem.
Bring extra clothes for you - babies are usually naked for these sessions, and it's not at all uncommon for you to need to change your clothes due to an "accident"

At this point in your baby's life, you are her whole world. She's dependent on you for absolultely everything. And in spite of all the life adjustments and lost sleep, you'd do anything for her.

This is one of our very favorite styles, at any age.

Is there anything more tiny, delicate and precious than those liltle toes, and fingers on a newborn baby? PRECIOUS PARTS combines these with all those other little kissible parts in a wonderful display of 9 photographs framed to show all that makes up a baby. This has always been a favorite amongst our clients.
